New Pet Waste Stations

A message from the Board of Directors

The HOA will be installing pet waste stations throughout the Common Area of the Lakes during the first week of August.

Each station will have a locked dispenser from which a single “mitt” bag can be pulled out to scoop the poop.

Once the bag is full, it can be deposited through a small opening in a locked and sealed container mounted on the station.

For those civic-minded dog walkers who have always cleaned up after their pet, the new pet waste stations will at least alleviate the need to carry a poop-filled bag back to their homes and decide what to do with it once they get there.

For less civic-minded dog walkers who have been leaving behind their dog’s poop on the Common Area, the HOA hopes the new stations will make it as easy as possible to do the right thing – bag your dog’s poop and put it in the sealed container.

But for those who continue to pollute our beautiful community with unscooped dog poop after the pet stations are installed, the HOA will adopt a policy of zero tolerance.

We will reveal what we mean by zero tolerance should it prove necessary, but we would much prefer all dog owners to be fully compliant on a voluntary basis.  It’s the right thing to do -- and the time has come to do it.
