“I am a resident since 1995 and have always quietly observed the activities of our Association. I felt compelled to send this note after receiving the recent hardcopy of our newsletter, and visiting this website for the first time. Thank you for the progress in unbiased communications. Please keep up the good work, it is truly recognized.”

“I’ve been living in the Lakes for six years now and, like many of us who live here, I have continuously encountered drivers at the traffic circle who don’t seem to know who is supposed to yield to whom. The yield signs are located at the entrances to the circle, not within the circle. I interpret that to mean that once you are in the circle, you have the right of way. Traffic that has not yet entered the circle has to yield to traffic that is already in the circle. This is NOT an alternative merge situation. If you are waiting to get into the circle, it does NOT mean that if you let one car go, it is now your turn.
“When traveling west on Lakes at Boca Raton Blvd. today, I noticed there was no traffic going north on Cain and no one in the circle. There was a car in front of me which entered the circle and continued going west. However, there was a car that was heading south on Cain at the entrance to the circle, just at the yield sign. The driver yielded to the car in front of me, and then started to inch in behind it as I followed behind. It came very close to hitting me. We honked at each other and each of us came to a stop. We rolled down our windows and started screaming at each other. The passenger in the other car yelled at me that it was their turn to go. I screamed at him that he had a yield sign. He screamed back “you had a yield sign too, we let the other guy go, then it was our turn, and then you would go next.” This is NOT how I assumed traffic in the circle was supposed to flow. My understanding is that traffic not yet in the circle is supposed to yield to traffic already in the circle. Am I misinterpreting the way this traffic circle is supposed to work, or what?”
